Court Ordered VolunteerRonald McDonald House Charities of the Southwest does not accept court-ordered community service volunteers who are doing hours for offenses including, but not limited to, the following:
- any wrong doing with a child
- any type of drug possession
- any offense of a violent act or threat of a violent act
- any case of sexual offense or assault
- any offense of robbery or theft
- other offenses at the discretion of the Director of Programs or Executive Director
A court-ordered volunteer should call the Ronald McDonald HouseĀ® to confirm that they would be eligible to do their hours at the House. If eligible, the prospective volunteer should bring a copy of their court papers stating what the offense was and how many hours they need to complete. They will need to fill out a volunteer application, a criminal background form, and bring $5 for the background check and sex offender check.
There is a limit of volunteering for no more than 3 hours a day, unless it is authorized by the Director.
Court-ordered community service volunteers are primarily assigned cleaning chores while at the House.
