I vividly remember sitting at a big dining room table in the Ronald McDonald house my aunt was utilizing in Missouri while on a trip to visit my aunt with my grandparents. My aunt had delivered her firstborn, my cousin, Zachary Scott, weighing 1 lb 16 oz and he was receiving care at the nearby hospital. In between trips to the hospital, I would play games with the other kiddos and get to hear all the stories of their medical battles. I will never forget how neat I thought it was for them to have a place like the Ronald McDonald House to call home during their treatment. Fast forward to 2009 when my sister delivered my niece prematurely. Adrianne would require weeks in the NICU in a hospital far from her home. I felt peace knowing when I traveled back to Texas, my sister would be in good hands with the Ronald McDonald home because I had witnessed it firsthand. My name is Dianne Burnett, and by day I work for Grace Health System where I am oversee marketing and communications as well as various projects for the executive team. The Lord blessed me with two beautiful daughters, Hadley (5) and Merrytt (2). There are so many parents fighting a fight I never want to imagine and I feel being part of the Red Shoe Crew is a way for me to show them we are here to love and support them through it. I welcome you to join me in supporting the Ronald McDonald House as a token of appreciation for all they have done for me and my family. The work they do is invaluable.
