Lubbock, TX – March 16, 2020 – RMHC of the Southwest
Vigilant and regular attention to germ free spaces is always the standard at RMHC of the Southwest. However, due to changes in visitor policies at partnering hospitals and medical facilities, RMHC is adopting the following temporary policies to ensure the safety of the families we serve:
- RMHC Family Rooms in Lubbock hospitals (UMC & Covenant) and in Medical Center Hospital in Odessa will be suspending program services until further notice.
- In an effort to reduce outside exposure to the families we serve, the Ronald McDonald House will suspend facility tours and volunteer involvement inside the Ronald McDonald House for the duration of the COVID 19 situation.
- Guest Chef’s will be asked to provide a catered meal or provide funding for internal staff to shop and cook for the families staying in the House, rather than cooking in the House, allowing for minimal traffic in and out of the House.
The House is currently at full capacity with a waiting list. RMHC will continue serving families with hospitalized children through these extreme times.
