Located in Lubbock, Texas, the Ronald McDonald House continues to be the cornerstone program of Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Southwest. The House serves as a “home-away-from-home” for families of critically ill children who are receiving medical treatment in local hospitals. More than 400 families are served by the Ronald McDonald House each year.
We are honored to offer families a place to sleep, eat, and relax, while their children receive medical treatment.

WHAT TO EXPECT
From the moment you enter our doors, we want your family to be comfortable. But most importantly, we want to provide the support needed so that you can focus on the most important thing — your child’s healing.
Eligibility – In order to stay at the Ronald McDonald House, families must live outside Lubbock County and have a child age 21 years or under who is receiving medical treatment. Criteria for clearing families from our waiting list include distance traveled, seriousness of the illness and completing a background check.
About Our Rooms – The Ronald McDonald House in Lubbock has 17 guest rooms. All rooms are slightly different and are meant to accommodate families’ varying needs. All of the rooms include a private bathroom.
Kitchen Facilities – Each family living at the Ronald McDonald House has access to kitchen facilities and a well stocked pantry. Stoves, refrigerators, freezers, microwaves, cooking utensils and dishes are available.
Cost – There is no cost for families to stay at the Ronald McDonald House. However, we accept donations. We also accept Texas and New Mexico Medicaid and will file for families who have either.
Transportation – UMC has a shuttle that provides transportation to and from the hospital 24/7. The Ronald McDonald House also provides transportation to Covenant Children’s Hospital and stores as needed.
You’ll find that when families arrive at our House, they form friendships and share moments with our staff and the other families also facing the challenges of having a sick child. The continued love and support that families experience at the House truly makes a difference.
Once you visit, you are always a part of the Ronald McDonald family.
